I received a BA in History from George Washington University in 2007. Immediately before coming to ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ, I worked for City Year’s Care Force division running corporate service events.
I heard about ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ from a graduate of the program who conducted a carpentry training for City Year while I was a Senior Corps Member. I looked into the school, came to an information session and applied.
The highlight of the program is the field work. I had some experience in carpentry before I came here but I didn’t realize how much I didn’t know. I already had a job lined up with an alumni from the program [before I graduated]. My advice to future students is to pay attention and work hard. Like many things in life, you get more out if you put more in.
