I decided to come to ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ because I wanted to get real experience in traditional carpentry. My background was using pneumatic tools and flimsy materials. I wanted to do more traditional work and have a more intimate knowledge of the trade and materials. People told me that ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ is the “Harvard” of trade schools.

Before ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ I was building houses for a large company in Minnesota. Before that I built houses for a small Amish company in Pennsylvania and worked for a slate roofing company for many years. I started in the trades after college because I was unsure of what to do. I knew that I wanted to be a carpenter but I felt like I had started too late and no one was helping me to know the trade. I was just showing up to the job and doing the work.
