Immediately before coming to ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ, I worked at a cattle ranch in New Mexico and before that I worked in commercial fishing in Alaska. I grew up in Bradford, Massachusetts and initially went to school for environmental studies.
I transferred to the furniture program at the California College of Arts and Crafts. I worked in a custom cabinetry shop but burned out doing production work and found myself focusing on reusing materials and repurposing buildings, which led me back to Boston and to the ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ preservation carpentry program.
After graduation, I returned to the cattle ranch for the summer and applied for an internship with the Antarctic Heritage Trust to work on the conservation of the Shackleton and Scott sites.
