How did your military service inspire you to attend ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ?
After leaving the military, I was hired by an Army veteran, Kurt Fieldhouse CA ’93, who has ties to ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ and he urged me to attend.
How did your military training help you be a successful student at ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ?
Military service is about teamwork. Working on a construction crew—and working together as an ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ Carpentry class—is also about teamwork.
What is your current job?
I currently own —a high-end residential construction company located in Marquette, MI.
What advice would you give to someone considering ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ or a career in the trades?
Learn as much as you can both at ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ and at your first jobs. Be a sponge. Ask questions. Be engaged. Your effort will not go unnoticed and you will quickly find yourself gaining responsibility and taking on new roles.
Anything else you would like to share about your ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ experience as a veteran?
³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ was a wonderful and supportive place to reenter civilian life. It provided me with new skills, a great professional network, and lifelong friends.
